We have just received The Heritage Lottery Funding towards our Education Programme
 The Amherst
Heritage Centre are pleased to announce that they have been
awarded a grant worth £50,000 from the Heritage Lottery
Fund.
The Grant will enable
the Amherst Heritage Centre to employ a further three people
to help co-ordinate it's education programme for schools and
youth groups.
The centre said
"The Grant from the Heritage Lottery fund has enabled
us to concentrate on our core values and to enable school visits
to Fort Amherst"
The Amherst Heritage Centre had a busy 2007 with many local and national schools visiting the historic fortress. The funding has now come to a end but the Amherst Heritage Centre is still open for schools to visit all year round. The Heritage Lottery funding enabled us to promote ourselfs to schools across the county and vitial investment in educational tools and resources.
