Our Heritage
Members are special volunteers at the Amherst Heritage Centre who
help research and publish papers in support of the Centre's Education
programme and the wider community.
"Heritage Member John Lambert volunteered
to write up the Fort Amherst War Diary for the Amherst Heritage
Centre. The War Diary records the daily incidents
of the Medway Towns through the war years and records the number
of bombs dropped, fires, broken gas mains and other emergencies
dealt with by the people working within the Fort Amherst tunnels
between 1940 and 1945."
"The Amherst Heritage Centre offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere for anyone who is considering volunteering in the community"
If you are interested in finding out more, why not pop in and our friendly team of staff and volunteers will be happy to have a chat with you and to explore your potential as a Heritage Member. We need volunteers to help with Research, Gardening and Maintenance
