Birthday Child Goes free!
28th May 2008

The Amherst Heritage Centre, will be letting the Birthday Child go free when their party is booked in June 2008. This means a saving of £12 and still one amasing day!


A Summer of fun at Fort Amherst

This Summer is set to be very special this year, with an entire summer of activities happening at Fort Amherst. Action Days are available throughout the holidays at £15 per a child.


Fort Amherst celebrates 100th Birthday Party!

This week the Amherst Heritage Centre will be celebrating it’s 100th birthday party. The red coat parties were re-introduced to the Fort by the centre last April and have proved a huge success. A spokesperson for the centre said “We are booking parties into late 2007, this is something we would have never imagined!”


Byron School Visit: WWII Experience
Friday 8th June 2007

The Amherst Heritage Centre recreated a WWII Experience for Byron School - including The Home Guard, Air Raid Precaution, Fire and Rescue, a Field Kitchen run by WRVS and the Press Room with actual Evacuees from the Medway Towns on hand to tell the children about their experiences during the War and how it affected them.


Everyone's talking about the Scarecrows overlooking Chatham...

Apparently from nowhere, Chatham gained a new focal point... a herd of Scarecrows suddenly appeared on the banks of the Historic Fort and noone seemed to know why!
