The Amherst Heritage Centre values the learning aspects of school trips and understands the need to be able to capture the imagination and inspire the young people of today, enabling them to learn and absorb information. For this the Centre provides several carefully  planned “living history” school trips:  including interactive and hands-on role play where young people get to experience the past through a range of carefully modulated lessons and activities. We aim to become a centre of excellence for heritage learning in the southeast, open for school visits all year round for heritage, conservation, art and drama and the environment.
