The Amherst Heritage Centre offers some of Kent's leading educational experiences, from the WWII Experience to the Mini Beast hunts. We can come to you in the classroom or your students can visit us at one of our partner attractions!

Birthday Parties

The famous Red Coat Parties will be returning in May 2009 at our Partner Attraction. (TBA in Fall 2009). We will be offering many different Birthday Parties, including the Popular Red Coat Parties, where your child is dressed up in Red Tunic and armed with a Dummy Musket, they are taken off by one of our party hosts to explore our partner attraction.

Research

Fort Amherst has been described by English Heritage as the most complete Napoleonic Fortification in the UK and there's a large part that's still unrestored.  The Heritage Members of the Amherst Heritage Centre have been commissioned to create five booklets highlighting the facinating military and social history of the Fort.  Funded by the Local Heritage Initiative the booklets will support future educational visits
