Christmas is a very special time of year for us at the Amherst Heritage Centre, we are dusting off all the decorations, listening to festive music and pulling crackers!

Father Christmas has got himself into a bit of a mess this year! After he been busy checking his list, not once but twice he has mislaid some presents around the grounds of the historic fort! Your mission should you choose to accept it is to help us hunt for the lost presents around the Fort.

We will also be offering Arts and Craft activities, Napoleonic Drill in REAL uniforms and other festive activities!

The Tunnels and the whole Historic Fort have been transformed into a hidden world, we have got Father Christmas's control centre. From this location he writes his naughty and nice list and organizes the distribution of all the presents all over the world. Visit the Post room, where the elf's are had at work sorting all the millions of thank you letters. You can send your Thank you letters for all the lovely gifts you received on Christmas day!

The mysterious Enchanted Tunnels are only show themselves for a few days. Transport yourself back in time and learn the Napoleonic Drill from the solider's that protect the presents from naughty elf's and enroll in Father Christmas's protection army from naughty children

Parents can relax in the beautiful surrounds of the fortress in Amherst's of Chatham Coffee House and enjoy a cup of their signature coffee or maybe some homemade Mulled Wine to get in the festive spirit! Amherst's will be serving giant mince pies, turkey and stuffing baguettes and other seasonal delights! We are fully licensed so you can relax with a bottle of locally brewed beer, a glass of wine or even a gin and tonic!
